The Lower Yuba starts in Marysville, California, at its confluence with the Feather River and ends at the Englebrite Dam. It is a year round fishery that supports anadromous fish, like Chinook Salmon, Steelhead, Striped Bass, and American Shad. It also supports a wild population of Rainbow Trout.
Unlike the Lower American River, the Lower Yuba has limited access. At the Highway 20 bridge, fly fishers can access there, but they have to be aware of the private properties . Downriver about 4 miles is Harmon Grove Park. It has great access to some good water. Another mile down is Sycamore Ranch Campground. If you want to fish there, a $5.00 parking fee is required.
Sycamore Ranch is also the takeout if you want to drift your watercraft from the Highway 20 bridge. Employees from Sycamore Ranch will shuttle your vehicle for you for a fee of $15.00.
