The Tarpon Toad
Permalink

The Tarpon Toad was made famous by Andy Mill in the movie, Chasing Silver: A Tarpon Journey.  Since then, it became the fly to use for Florida Keys Tarpon fishing.  What's interesting is the size.  Andy used smaller sizes (1/0 and 2/0) to catch large Tarpon.  Chartreuse and yellow is the most popular.  Other color combinations are purple and black (shown) and tan and orange.  The fly has gone through many variations.  The original had a zonker strip for a tail.  The more popular versions use marabou.
